DanielHoodHometown: I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. We moved here to be closer to my wife’s family and get out of the big city. We love having the space to experience more nature here in Minnesota!
Family: Wife: Charis, and 4 kids: Elise, Zach, Tyler, and Erik – All enrolled in Brainerd Public Schools
Occupation: I currently work for CTC as the Systems Integration and GIS Manager. Previously, I taught High School Science for 6 years in Arizona, and was very active in various student groups and summer programs.
Hobbies: My whole family is active outside with sports, hiking and exploring nature. We also enjoy relaxing inside by practicing music, art or playing games.
What makes the BPSF mission meaningful to you?
It is an honor to serve on the BPSF board and its mission to support education for all students. I have been a product of the public school system my whole life, including teaching at one of the largest public schools in the state of Arizona. It is crucial for the success of the area and society as a whole to help teachers and staff in creating the best situations and opportunities for students to succeed. I can’t wait to help continue BPSF’s tradition of creating lasting positive change within Brainerd Public Schools.
